  2. PATHS TO DR DOS CONFIGURATION FILES ON NETWORKS

  4. Description:
  5. If paths are being lost over the network, it is likely that the
  6. files:
  7.  
  8.      *.INI
  9.      *.CFG
  10.  
  11. are being stored in the wrong place.
  12.  
  13.  
  14. Use:     DR DOS SETUP 
  15.     "System Parameters" menu
  16.     Sub menu #6 
  17.  
  18. to point configuration and information files to the users home
  19. directory.

  21. Example:

  23. ViewMax and other files, have .ini (information) files. If you
  24. load these utilities from a server (Z::)
  25.  
  26.     z::viewmax
  27.  
  28. DR DOS will look for the VIEWMAX.INI file on the path set by
  29. the local SETUP, System Parameter menu, sub menu number 6.  The
  30. default may not work on a network.  Usually the network is
  31. setup so that you have a special "user path" that will allow you
  32. to write files, remember the Network knows who you are and what
  33. privileges you have. That "user path" is the one to put the
  34. preferences and information files.

  40. Your network system administrator will know the name of your
  41. special "user path".
